Dr. Laufer is the author of Breaking the Code of Project Management, Macmillan, 2009; the co-author
of Shared Voyage: Learning and Unlearning from Remarkable Projects, NASA History Office, 2005; the co-author
of Project Management Success Stories: Lessons of Project Leaders, Wiley, 2000; the author of Simultaneous
Management: Managing Projects in a Dynamic Environment, AMACOM, The American Management Association, 1997;
and the co-author of In Quest of Project Excellence through Stories, Procter & Gamble, 1994.
For more than four years (2001-2005), Dr. Laufer
served as the Editor in Chief of the NASA Academy of Program and Project Leadership Magazine, ASK, Academy Sharing Knowledge

He also
served as a member of the Advisory Board of the NASA Academy of Program and Project Leadership. He is currently a member of
the Editorial Review Board of the Project Management Journal.
Dr. Laufer received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin,
Texas in 1980. Currently, Dr. Laufer is a Chaired Professor in the Faculty of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the
Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where he served as Dean
of the Faculty between 2001 and 2005. He is also currently a Visiting
Scholar at Columbia University.
Dr. Laufer has led seminars
for executives and project managers in a wide variety of organizations, including AT&T, Bechtel, DuPont, Exxon, General
Motors, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Mobile, Motorola, NASA, Proctor & Gamble, Stone and Webster, Texaco, the US Department of
Commerce, and the US Department of Defense.
